EX-M.P.'S "GOOD CELLAR."
Curious provisions aro contained in the will of Mr. John Kenneth Fostor, J.P., of Egton-in-Cleveland, Yorkshire, woollon manufacturer, who, it was revealed tho other day, left unsettled property valuo £128,823, with net personalty £113,726.
Mr. Foster, who was M.P. for Coventry in 1910, expressed the desire, " '1 hat in accordance with tho custom in Cleveland, a bidder to my funeral be sent round tho estate, and that wine, beer and sandwiches bo provided, at (he expense of my general estate, for tenants and others wiio are present at my funeral.' Ho directed that the stocks of wines and liquors at Fgton should be maintained bv tho trustees, " as I know tho value of a good cellar." The request was made by Mr. I. 1 osier that his wife would seal up the diary conimonccd by him during the war and retain it, unopened, lor her life, and by her will make it to pass with tho settled estate, with the direction that it should not lie opened until he had been dead for not less than 30 years. Tho will concludes:—
" 1 should have liked to have made many other gifts, both charitable and personal, but the present heavy taxation and what 1 am accustomed to give in my lifetime so reduce my income that I am unable adequately to provide for the largo sum which 1 know will bo required at my death to pay death duties, and consequently I do not feel justified in further reducing what will bo available for my wife and children."
