CITY CRASH ECHO.
Notice has been given of an intended dividend in connection with the affairs of Mr. Ocrard Leo Bevan. Mr. Bevan was one of the most prominent financiers in London, and was believed to be enormously wealthy. He had a suite at the Carlton 110101, a house in Grosvenor Street, and a home in the country.
The collapse of the City Equitable Firo Insurance Company, of which Mr. Bevan was chairman, in 1922, was followed by the issue of n warrant for his arrest on a charge of fraud. After a trial lasting 12 days Mr. Bevan was sentenced lo seven years' penal servitude). Since his release some years ago ho has published a volume of poems.
