MISSING FOR TEN DAYS

FATE OF MR. W. D. MUNN

Tho body of Mr. William Davidson Munn-, who had been missing from his home, 17, Lake Iload, Dcvonport, since July 17, was found floating in the harbour near the Dcvonport Wharf yesterday afternoon. The body was noticed by youths on the wharf. They notified the police, and the body was recovered. Mr. Munn was fully dressed and was wearing mi overcoat. His watch had stonncd at 10.35. Indications were that tho body had been immersed for some days. It is understood that when Mr. Munn Wt his homo about eight o'clock on the evening of July 17 ho intended to visit friends in the city. On arriving at tho Dcvonport Wharf he found that ho had just missed a ferry-boat. He decided not to wait for the next boat and accordingly left the wharf. His movements since then had not been known. Extensive searches had been conducted by the police.

Tho late Mr, Munn was born in Melbourne in 1864. Ho became a partner in the firm of Rae, Munn and Gilbert, of Melbourne, and in that capacity tm"°lW New Zealand for about 15 years. Later, in partnership with Mr. A. M. Anstiss, lie established the business of Munn and

Anstiss, manufacturers' representatives, lie was liked and respected by the business community, not only in Auckland, but. also in other parts of the Dominion. Mr. Munn was ;v member of the Auckland Potary Club, and formerly had taken an interest in bowling. He is survived by Airs. Munn, a son, Mr. W. It. Munn, and a daughter, Mrs. D. 11. Ross. Thero are three grandchildren. An inquest will bo held this morning.
