BLUE BATH AT ROTORUA.
STOPPAGE OF REBUILDING. BUSINESS MEN PROTEST. [BY TELEGItAPJI. OWN COlUt ESF'ON DENT. ] HOTOKUA, Saturday. Al the annual meeting of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, the president, Mr. N'. M. Keane, who was in the chair, remarked on (lie stoppage of work on the nine Bath. It would have been much better to spend the money on it than to spend it, on making a. road to Taupo, which would not bring in n penny revenue, and was quite good enough for the time being while money was so short. He thought the tourist traffic was an important industry and that Rotorua was the key town to that traffic. The action of the Government in discharging men front this work did not help the unemployment question al all, and as they were engaged on a revenueproducing job it was difficult to understand.
A resolution entering a strong protest against, the stoppage of this work was carried unanimously, and a copy was ordered to be sent to the Minister of Public Works, the Ministers of Health and Tourist Resorts, and to Mr. ('. 11. Clinkard, M.P., member for Rotorua.
