OWNERSHIP OF GOLD.
THEFT CASE RECALLED. PROBLEM FOR MAGISTRATE. [HY TELECiTI.M'II. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Tuesday. An echo of Uio t.heft of £5 in gold from a shop on March 8 was heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day when Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., was asked by Sergeant McNamara to decide the ownership of halfsovereigns which, it was stated, formed part of the property stolen on that occasion. Somo of the gold had been exchanged to various people for notes by a man who had been found guilty in the Supreme Court of theft. The owner of the shop claimed the cuius. The magistrate said the position was extremely interesting and involved so much that ho would consider the matter and give a decision later.
