FIREMAN SENT TO PRISON.

Sentence of throe months' imprisonment was passed on George Gould, aged 41, fireman, who appeared in tho Police Court yesterday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on a charge of being idle and disorderly and having insufficient lawful means of support. Accused pleaded guilty and also admitted a charge of being found drunk in Queen Street Police ovidcnco was that accused had done very little work during tho past year. lie spent his time about hotels.

Tho theft of an overcoat valued at 30s and a pullover valued at lis 6d was admitted by Edward Henry Leedliam Quintal!. Chief Detective Hammond said accused was already serving a sentence. A convictiou was recorded.
