ATHENAEUM CLUB.

SUCCESSFUL AT HOME. The Athenaeum ' Club rooms presented a gay scene last evening when the members entert.iinecl their friends at a vevy successful At Home. In tlio vestibule graceful palms and greenery were placed, while in the lounge room cheery log fires were burning, and bowls of golden wattle added a colourful note. The danco room was transformed into a 11 oral bower with hanging wistaria flowers in tones of gold and green, and delicately-shaded Chinese lanterns. In the card room bridge was provided for thoso who were not dancing/ The music, which was supplied, by Edgar Bendall's Collegians, was much appreciated by the many dancers. On arrival the guests were received by the president, Mr. Eliot Davis, and Mrs. Eliot Davis. Among those present were:—Lady Elliot, Mrs. W. Boyle, Mrs. A.
