DISCUSSION BY FARMERS.#

PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday.
Tho valuo of tho boys' and girls' club movement throughout Now Zealand was discussed at to-day's conference of the North Isbnd Agricultural and Pastoral Associations.
A suggestion that as tho movement was a valuublo factor in stimulating interest in and promoting knowledpo of livestock and agriculture there should bo a bettor organisation of it, and that tlio system of agricultural instruction in primary and secondary schools should bo co-ordinated under ono authority, was discussed at length. Mr. E. Burroll (Feilding* suggested that tlio ono authority in control should ho either the Department of Agriculture or tiio education boards, on which tho opinions of delegates differed. Mr. B. N. Sandilands (Feilding) stated that. Mr. Wild, principal of tlio Fcild'ng Agricultural High School, was particu hilly interested in the matter, but unfortunately could not bo present. 110 suggested that tlio matter bo held over until Mr. Wild had n, clianco of explaining his ideas to the conference, and this action was agreed to.
