ELECTIONS IN ABEYANCE. British Wireless. HL'jBY, June J.. Dr Drummond Shiels, Under of State, Colonial Office, was asked in the House oi Commons whether he was in a position to give any further information about the situation in Malta.

In reply Dr. Shiels stated that, owing to the state of publics feeling in Ma:U, tba elections- <vere still bein£ held in abeyance by the Governor in the exercise of bis reserved powers. The question 01 what further measures should be taKen to deal with the situation was under consideration by the British Government.
