NEW LYNN INTERESTS.
VALUATION OF BOROUGH.
The New Lynn Borough Council met on .Monday, .1 ho acting-mayor, Mr. G. Lawson, presiding. The council decided to repair the road and footpath in Seabrook Avenue, the foreman's estimate of the cost being £lB2. In the last fortnight tho amount of ■wafer used was 1,100,000 gallons, as registered by the meter. Tliis-shows a further decrease in tho weekly consumption. Information was received from (.he Hospital Board I hat the levy on New Lynn for tlie current year will. bo £857 18s. This shows an increase of £BO over tho previous year's levy. Further correspondence was received from the Railway Department regarding the lighting of the overbridge at the level Crossing. The officials are of tho opinion that ample lighting facilities are provided.
The council resolved to ask the Valuation Department to make a revaluation of the borough, to take effect from March 31, 1931. Permission was granted the Community Sunshine Club to take up a street collection on May 30. • On tho recommendation of the Legal and Finance Committee it was resolved to ask the Railway Department that New Lynn be made a compulsory stop for all trains, or, alternatively, that automatic alarms be installed immediately at tho level crossing adjacent to the station.
