STERN FIGHT TO COME. British Wireless. RUGBY, May 1. The House of Lords agreed to the second reading of the Coal Mines Bill without a division. The Conservatives, however, intimated their intention of amending the bill in the committee stage. Lord Thomson, Secretary of State for Air, said the Government would have to take a very firm stand afc the committee stage. Tho bill >vas a measure of national importance, and it was introduced to help the coal industry.
