TAKAPUNA GARDEN PARTY.
A garden party and gift afternoon under the auspices of ihe Women's Auxiliary of the Sudan United Mission was held on Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. W. Mills, of Earnoch Avenue, lakapuna. Tho various stalls Vei'e arranged about the gardens and lawns, and the ladies in charge of these .Were* from the churches of different denominations in the district. The Rev. John Iliddleslon opened the function and spoke of the great work that had been done in the past by tho Sudan United and of the great hopes that were felt for the future. Ten was served on the verandah by Mrs. Calvin and feoinnicrville with the 1 help of the l -t'. George's Bible Class girls. Tho general stall was organised by the Methodist Bible Class girls and the, Anglican ■Missionary Service League was responsible for the produce. In charge of he cakes stall were Mrs. Campbell arid <a -i brook; needlework, Women's Auxiliary; literature, Lcaguo of Sudan xtelpers.
