SAWMILL WORKER KILLED.
DRAGGED BY BUSH TRAM.
FATALITY NEAR TOKAANU. [BY telegraph—own correspondent.] TOKAANU. Friday.' An accident occurred' yesterday after-, noon, resulting in the death of & sawmill employee, Kahuti Nuku. The accident is stated to be due to a tram brake failing. The deceased attempted to jump clear, but unfortunately his leg became entangled in the ropes, and he was dragged some considerable distance. Apparently death was instantaneous. Deceased was the youngest son of Hemi Nuku,' was 21 years of age, and was most popular. He was an employee of the Tuwharetoa Timber Company-: operating * afc Waihi, near Tokaanu. A large tangi will be held..
