HOUSES IN HUTT VALLEY.
TWO LARGE BUILDINGS.

Two houses, each of two storeys, were destroyed in the Hutt Valley this evening. One was a boarding house containing about 20 rooms, situated in the main street of Lower Hutt. The owner was Mrs. Ireland, of Auckland. The alarm was received at 7.45. At 8.30 the Petone brigade was called to a 10-roomed apartment house on the Hutt Road. OUTBREAK NEAR WHAKATANE. FARMER'S HOME BURNED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WHAKATANE, Friday. Fire last night destroyed a six-roomed house at Otamarakau, owned by Mr. W. Strawbridge, fanner. The furniture wa9 insured for £l5O in the Royal Exchange Office. '
