Latest catches by deep-sea anglers at Whangaroa are as follows Mr. R. B. Watson, launch Alma G., mako, 1861b., mako, 2871b.; Mr. C. Welson, Auckland, launch Dione, swordfish,. 21>61b.; Mr. «T. McDougall, Martinborough, swordfish, 2111b. • and Mr. J. Ussher, mako, 2271b., both on the launch Rosemary; Mr. A. Hodgson, Auckland, mako, 1481b.; and Mr. Arnott, mako, 2371b., launch Marlin ; Captain W., E. Rowe, London, launch Ethel, swordfish, 2801b. Mr. C. Welson's swordfish gave him a thrilling experience. The fish was extremely lively and fought' splendidly. Captain Rowe has been very fortunate, landing a large number of big fish during his stay at Whangaroa. MERCURY BAY GROUNDS.
