SIR DUDLEY DE CHAIR,

WORK IN NEW SOUTH WALES,

High praiso of the work of the Boy Scouts' Association was voiced by the Governor of South Wales, Sir Dudley de Chair, when responding to the toast of his health as Chief - Scout of New South Wales at a dinner tendered him last week by the association. His Excellency said the training which the Boy Scouts were receiving would be of the greatest benefit to them in the future, when they assumed responsibility for the future government of the country. 41 1 feel very much indeed leaving you all," said Sir" Dudley, who is leaving for home in April, "1 have taken a great interest in. the Boy Scout movement and it he.s been an honour to me to be it's chief scout in New South Wales. I have watched the work of the association and I congratulate you, one and all, on what has been achieved. When I return to England I shall be able to tell how the movement is progressing in New South Wales. It is a great and noble work and I am sure that if our young men realised its excellent. advantages more of them would become scoutmaster;?." Mr. E. Trenciiard Miller, Chief Scout" Commissioner, said there was-no greater achievement than making a boy a man. He was very proud to say that the commissioners were doing their' work in the best way and that there was no favour or reward. They wanted responsible men, however, to come forward. In Sir Dudley de Chair they were losing the finest Chief Scout New South Wales had ever hadTo the movement he had been a most wonderful help.:
