We have been passing through one of the coldest periods ever recorded here. The average for the first 15 days of this month was 51 degrees below zero. That is much lower than was recorded by Amundsen.

A geological parly will go soulli lo Queen .Maud .Mountains in October, when it is believed the temperature will have become decidedly warmer. It is not likely that there will be any flying before December.
