NEW BRITISH CRUISER.
SHROPSHIRE AT CHATHAM.
NOW BEING COMMISSIONED
(Jni'ed Scrvicp. LONDON, Sept. 17. The new British cruiser Shropshire, which has taken two and a-lialf years to construct and has cost £2,000,000, has arrived at Chatham, where she is being commissioned.
The Shropshire will join the cruiser squadron on the Mediterranean station consisting of her sister ships, London, Sussex and Devonshire.
The Shropshire is a 10.000-ton cruiser of the London class. She was eonsi rucled by William Beardmoro and Co., Limited., at Dalmuir, where she was launched on July 5, 1928.
