THE CLEANSING EARTH.
Mother.earth is a great cleanser, and cutlery or kitchen utensils that reek of onions or fish, or* similar strong and odoious food, may be made sweet again by digging the knife or fork several times into a patch of clean earth. A fishslice is the better for occasional treatment of this kind. Thorough washing with soapy water afterwards will complete the good .work.
