INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL.
Sir,—ls it not about time that public attention was drawn to such a vital question as the proposed erection of the contagious diseases branch of the hospital in its grounds, at tho back of Grafton Road. Many years since the then existing Hospital Hoard was wise enough to foresee the time when it would bo a positive menace to the health of the city to have such an institution in virtually the heart of the. city, so they made provision for isolating it in a suburban district. It is a relief to know that action is being taken in one quarter with the desire to make the Hospital Board realise its responsibility from a sanitary point of view, before it embarks on the expense of a building which is_ morally sure to be deeply regretted within a very short time. The foundations, on which some hundreds of pounds have been spent, can cosily be adapted to other purposes by the board, to which no objection can be raised, as can be to the present intention. Resident.
