THAMES GIRLS' DANCE.

Many functions of a social nature have been given in Auckland recently 'to swell the funds raised for tho earthquake sufferers, and a considerable sum of money was obtained last evening for this purpose at a danct held by the Thames Girls' Club, in the Manchester Unity Oddfellows' Ilall. The evening was passed pleasantly in dancing, when many of the older dances, including the La Rinka, schottischo and barn dance were very much enjoyed. Solo dances were given by some of Miss Boresford's pupils, and little Miss Keesing sang "Please Give me a Penny, Sir," pennies showering meanwhile into a Union Jack held by the little soloist. Excellent dance music was provided by Morrow's orchestra, the members giving (heir services free for tho evening.
