MARKETING OF TIMBER.
NEW COMPANY FORMED.
OUTPUT OF FIFTY MILLS. OPERATIONS FROM NEXT MONTH. [BV TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Sunday. To co-ordinate the interests of about 50 timber mills in the King Country and Rotorua districts a marketing organisa-' tion, to be known as the Saw-millers' Timber Trading Company, with headquarters in Hamilton, has been formed. The total output of the mills concerned is between 80,000,000 ft. and 90,000,000 ft. of timber annually, and as from June 1 the new company will market the whole output.
Negotiations have been in progress for a considerable time, and were finalised afc a meeting held in Hamilton. The new standai'ds of timber grading proposed by the Government have been adopted, and price-lists will be based on this classification.
