PAEROA-POKENO RAILWAY.
REQUEST TO PRIME MINISTER. PERSONAL VISIT POSTPONED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.], PAEROA, Saturday. The Mayor of Paeroa, Mr. W. Marshall, has received the following telegram from the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph "Ward, in reply to a request to visit the district in order to gain first-hand knowledge of the necessity for the immediate construction of the Paeroa-Pokeno railway. " I appreciate your invitation to visit Paeroa and had circumstances permitted should have been only too glad to accept it. I regret very much to say that J find it impracticable to lit in a visit as suggested. Under the circumstances your invitation will require to stand over for consideration 011 some future date."-
Mr. Marshall is hopeful that the Hon. W. 13. Taverner, Minister of Railways, will find time to visit Paeroa during his visit to the Auckland Province this month.
