CAMP AT NARROW NECK.

FIRST BATTALION TRAINEES. The 10 days' camp of about 150 trainees of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, will be concluded at Narrow Neck this morning. This will be the last period of consolidated training in Auckland for the present military year. Those trainees who have attended the present camp were unable to be present at the regular battalion course in February, and although it is known as the annual "casual" camp, a good standard of efficiency was maintained throughout. Captain J. G. C. Wales acted as camp commandant and adjutant, Staff SergeantMajor T. Cronin being camp sergenntma |or. The usual course of training was carried out, all branches of territorial work being embraced, included in the trainees were a number of retained N.C.O.'S. In spito of wet weather yesterday, sports were held on Narrow Neck beach. A mock court was conducted last evening. Following are results of the sports:— '440 Yards.—Sergeant R. 11. Brown, 1: Sergeant R. B. Moorhouse, 2; Sergeant J. i'. Farrell, 3: Private W. H. Davies, 4. 100 Yards: —Sergeant R. B. Moorhouso, 1; Corporal R, Kissling, 2; Sergeant R. H. Brown, 3. Fireman's Lift.—MacCulhun and Corporal R. Kissling, 1 ; Sergeant Robertson -and F. Fussell, 2; Coath and Rose, 3. Long Jump.—Sergeant Moorhouse, 1; Sergeant Robertson, 2; Sergeant R. H. Brown. 3. Obstacle Race. —Corporal R. Kissling. I; Private Marshall. 2; Private D, MacCalliltn. 3. l'ig a back Race.--Melrose and Elliott, 1; McCarthy and Lee, 2; Woodlock and Mason, 3. Officers' Race.—Lieutenant J. T. Tlill, 1; Captain J. G. C. Wales, 2; R.S.M. C. Cronin, 3. Quartermasters' Fatigue Race.—-Private G. Speight, 1; Private N. R. O'Brien and Private G. C. Laird, 2.
