SPEED-BOAT OWNER FINED.

PASSENGERS FOR TRIPS. Described as being the person in control of a speed-boat, S. F. Ford was fined £1 in the Police Court yesterday on a charge of having, at Takapuna, plied in navigable water without a valid certificate as to survey. On a further charge of carrying passengers for hire without having a certificated master or engineer, defendant was convicted and discharged. Prosecuting on behalf of the Marine Department, Mr. Hubble said thai Ford bad taken people for trips at Milford for one shilling.
