LATE MR. A. BRUNTNELL
STATE FUNERAL IN SYDNEY.
DEMONSTRATION OF ESTEEM
(Received February 3, 5.33 p.m.) SYDNEY. Feb. 3
The funeral of the lato Chief Secretary, Mr. Albert Bruntnell, took place yesterday in Sydney. It evoked a remarkable demonstration of the esteem in which he was held by all sections of the community. The streets in tho vicinity of the Congregational Church, Pitt Street, where the body lay in state in tho forenoon, were lined by citizens. After a short service tho cortege, headed by members of Mr. Bruntnell's family, Cabinet colleagues and other members of Parliament and representative citizens, moved through packed streets on its long route to the Northern Suburbs Cemetery, where the interment took place.
The Premier, Mr. T. R. Bavin, has agreed to take over the Chief Secretaryship..
