RELIC OF GALLIPOLI.
RIVER CLYDE TRANSPORT. PRESERVATION NOT PROBABLE. Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON, Nov. 27. In tlie House of Commons the President of the Board of Trade, Sir Philip CunliffeLister, reiterated the reasons why the Government had sold the transport River Clyde. Ho said the board had no powers to repurchase the steamer and to moor her 'permanently at the Thames embankment as a relic of the war and the Galli" poli campaign in which she had figured.
