LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
PONSONBY -BRANCH. The Fonsonliy branch of the League of Mothers held its last meeting for the year yesterday afternoon •in Leys Institute. The president, Mrs. 0. S. English, presided over a large attendance of members and visitors, the latter including presidents, secretaries and members from city and suburban branches.
The meeting opened with the leaguo's prayer, after which Mrs. English welcomed the visitors and spoke briefly of the work done during the year. Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, acting provincial president, who was also present, expressed her pleasure at the work done by the Ponsonby branch and wished its continued success. A report of the formation of a new country branch at Te Rore, Waikato, was read by Miss A. M. Arey, acting provincial secretary, and a hearty welcome to this, the latest branch of the league, was extended by the members. Most enjoyable items were rendered during (lie afternoon by Mrs. Bagrie, Mrs. Krrington, Miss Norene Bennett and Mrs. Field, who sang; Miss F.lfrieda Hall. Miss (!\ven Court, who gave elocutionary items, and Mrs. W. 1?. Craig, who gave a pianoforte solo. After a delightful afternoon lea had I iron served the meeting was brought to a close with the singing of Anlil Lang Syne.
