ST. MARY'S CONVENT.

CONCERT BY PUPILS. A concert to raise funds for the erection of the new school was given in the Lewis Kady, Limited, Hall last evening by the pupils of St. Mary's Convent. The programme consisted mainly of instrumental and vocal items, all of which were very pleasingly rendered, both by tho junior and senior pupils. The first number, an instrumental selection by the juveniles, was particularly well played by little Betty Sheath, who was at the piano, and Nancy Sheath, Clara Turner, M. Lvnes, G. Piggott, Joyce Ardly, Audrey James, Frances Mackenzie, G. Marshall, Erie Boyd and Bernard Toomey, who played tho violins. Pianoforte duos and quartettes comprised many of tho items, all of which were played with skill and excellent interpretation, tho pianists being: Miss I*. Miller, Miss A. French, Mi*s L. .Marshall, Miss 15. Croft. Miss I. Dean. Miss J. Power, Miss J. Parker, Miss W. Hawkins, Miss J). Bransgrove. Miss M. Lynes, Miss 1). O'Leary, Miss L. Piggott. Miss K. Ritchie. Miss I*. Kinniburgli. Miss P. Purchase, Miss J. Power, Miss L. Bungay. Miss M. Free. Miss S. Paris and Miss D. MacKen/ic. Vocal items, including the harmonised chorus. " Homo, Sweet Home," and various solos from grand opera were also rendered, the soloists being: Miss O'Grady. Miss Doris Bransgrove, Miss M. O'Grady and Miss M. Phillips, while the following took part in vocal quartettes and choruses: Mis? 0. Henrv, Miss V. Grant. Miss I. Dean, Miss 1). O'Leary. Miss M. Kelly, Miss M. Wathew, Miss I. Kitchen, Miss M. Delaney, Miss Phillips, Miss Ardley, Miss Green, Miss Foster, Miss M. Kelly. Miss Hammerton, Miss I. Kelly, Miss Salisbury. Miss French. A violin solo, "Gavotte" (Gossec), was played by Miss Grace Dyer. A short French playetto. " Les Enfants Chez les Flours," was given by some of tho junior girls, after which the. finale, Schubert's " Marclie Militairc." was played by Miss 31. Guiness, Miss Howard, Miss Somervell and Miss D. O'Brien.
