DEATH OF VON SCHEER.

COMMANDER AT JUTLAND. Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON. Nov. OG. A message from Berlin says the death has occurred of Admiral Beinhold Von Scheer, from heart failure. He commanded the German naval forces at the Jutland battle. < A British official wireless message says the British Admiralty has sent its condolences to the German naval authorities. The late Admiral Beinhold von Scheer was born 011 September 50, 1563, at Obernkirchcn in Hesse-Nassau. He served in the German colonial wars in Cameron and East Africa and was appointed in 1903 to the command of the Ist Torpedo Division of the German Navy. Subsequently lie was for a time at the bead of the Central Section in the Imperial Navy Office. In 1913 he was promoted to the rank of vice-admiral and was made commander of the 2nd squadron. In 1916 ho was appointed to the command of the German battle fleet. Ho was in command of the fleet at the battle of Jutland, and in his book, " Germany's High Seas Fleet in the World War,'' claimed to have won a victory there. In July, 1918, bir was mado cbi'cf of the Admiralty staff and again in August of the, same year, chief in command of the fleet. Iu December, 1918, lie was retired.
