INTER-UNION FACTIONS.
RIVALS SEEK REGISTRATION
(Received November 07, pm.) SYDNEY, Nov. 07
The factional fight which has disturbed the ranks of the Australian Seamen's Union for the past three years has been transferred to the Federal Arbitration Court for settlement.
The followers of Jacob Johnson, the former secretary of the union, have decided to apply for registration. Tho section under Mr. lom Walsh, the recently appointed secretary, bad already lodged an application for registration. Mr. Walsh describes tho move of the Johnson faction as bluff, as they have had three years in which to register, but have always scouted the idea.
Johnson's followers, on the other hand, say that seamen were induced to join Mr. Walsh's union under false pretences and are now repudiating it.
