THE PRIME MINISTER.

Sir,—Now that the great denunciation of the Reform Party and its leader is on may one who considers lio has a right say a word in his favour. I am a returned soldier with impaired health and f wife and children and Gordon Coates gave me a helping hand at' the right moment. | Owing to his kindness I have a good job and inv children are decently clad and fed. There are cliaps who fought in France with him who saw the real grit ' and determination that has got him 1 through so many trying times. He was ' known over there as""the man who never let a comrade down," and that in a place where the real man is seen and . judged accordingly. In my opinion he has done his best in the almost Herculean task which he took over, namely,. 1 straightening out the havoc of the post--1 war years. It was impossible to do this in three short years of a Ministry. Nevertlicless, as in 'France, he has "done his bit*' in many ways. !Mr- Coates lias a lot of time for tlie returned soldier and l there are many good deeds in the dark which will probably never be made known to the public, as In my own case. Probably he has forgotten these kindnesses, but" the recipients have not, and never will. Therefore, "hats off to Major Gordon Coates." Ex-Soldier.
