DRAINAGE OF LAND.
TAHUNA BOARD'S AREA.
CONFIRMATION OF RATES
[BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MOURINBVILLE. Saturday.
At a meeting of tho Tahuna Drainage Board the following rates were confirmed: —Central ward, 2|d in the pound on A class lands, 2d in the pound on B lands, and ljd in the pound on (J lauds. River ward, Northern ward and Eastern ward : 3d in tho pound on A lands, 2Jd in the pound on B lands, and ljd in the pound 011 C lands.
The Minister of Lands wrote that no suitable plant was available for tho widening of the Maikaka cut, as advocated by the Tahuna settlers. The matter was being given further consideration.
It was slutcd that tlio Wliakalioro relief capal was nearly completed, and the drain would he ready to take water as soon as tlio dredge worked its way back to the Wuitoa River.
