KOWHAI HIGH SCHOOL.
GROUND IMPROVEMENTS.
At a meeting of tho Kowhai Junior High School committee, tho chairman, Mr. A. A. Buckicy, presiding, the secretary reported the net profit from the recent school concert in Scots Ilall was £4B. This was being added to tho grounds improvement fund, which showed a fairly substantial credit balance.
The chairman said tho lower portion of tlio playground, previously sown in grass, was nolv lookipg well, plowing prorations being carried out by a squad of boys under Mr. Slavin. A toconia hedge had also been planted, and flower-beds laid out on the portion of playground plotting on lho Walters' property, near Onslow Road. Tho various g;|ic)tDn plots were now a blaze of colour.
It was decided to hold the annual parcuts' dity on Thursday, December 13, when a display of work executed by the pupils will be on exhibition.
