AT DIXIELAND.

There were many dancers present at Dixieland on Saturday evening and the new lighting effects met with much appreciation. Over tho dance floor dome lights with Egyptian designs were particularly colourful. From these blue, pink and mauve shadows were cast on the dancers and from the ceiling wcro suspended latticed green baskets, from which trailed bunches of wistaria. Tha walls, shaded from palest pink to deep rose and with numbers of small lights, formed a bright background for tho large, green ferns and pot plants arranged in front of the cubicles. Tho Dixieland Orchestra played excellent dance music, which was much appreciated. Among those present were:—Mrs. J. Nevill, who wore a frock of gold lace and beigo georgette; Mrs. 11. lidmarsh, ivory crepe de chine and diamante trimming; Mrs. J. Jones/ black brocaded satin; Mrs. Burnester, delft-bluo crepo satin; Mrs. Hardley, blush pink frilled georgette; Mrs. H. England, shaded pink tlounced georgette; Mrs. M.
