BAZAAR AT TAKAPUNA.
In order to relievo cases of distress in the district the Waitemata Women's Progressive League held a bazaar and dance in Daly's Hall, at Takapuna, on Saturday. The ladies' executive were responsible for their organisation, and the funds will benefit considerably by their work. Tlio Mayor of fakapuna, Mr. J. W. Williamson, opened the bazaar and wished it every success. During the afternoon the Takapuna Band played a number of selections and the Mustapha Orchestra, conducted bv Mrs. Kindred, played in the evening. Tlio stallholders were as follows Flowers. Mrs. Douglas, Mrs. Ewing and Mrs. Nowey; cakes, Mrs. Short and Mrs. Roberts; afternoon tea, Mrs. Algic and helpers; bran tub, Mrs. R. E. Kingdon, Miss Ruth Ryder and Miss T. Coulthard; variety stall, Mrs. Man; sweets, Mrs. Blackwell and Mrs. Gordon; refreshments, Mrs. Middleton and Mrs. Coulthard; produce, Mrs. Coffin; entertainments, Mrs. Bestic and Miss Greville. In the evening the president, Dr. H. J. C. Wilkie, with the ladies' executive, were j in charge of the arrangements.
