Tho South Canterbury Jockey Club's Summer Meeting concluded yesterday in fine weather. Tho track was fast and the totalisator handled £10.357 10s. compared with X 11,300 l"n on the second day last year. Tho total for tho meeting was £19,192 10s. compared with £25,880 lust year. Tho last day of the South Canterbury meeting "aw the racing much improved, in Bpito of the small fields. Erin Go Bragh, tho winner of tho Levels Hurdle Handicap, ran the journey surprisingly well. Ned Kelly, however, performed a lons v,ay below expectations. Page Boy scored ail impressive win in lhc Olarcmont Hack Handicap. Ho was out clear of the field at the end of two furlongs. Bjnk Draft ran below expectations. Beau tiesito registered an nttractivo performance in winning tho South Canterbury Handicap. He was well placed all through and ho tamo ou in the straight, finishing very strongly. He has improved out of sight lately, and after his latest effort he may go ou to further successes in good company, as lie stays well. Pricldcs lost ground at tho start, but looked a likely winner at the home turn, where she unaccountably lost sorno ground. Onco in tho straight ahc camo on with a good run and Cnisbod a closo second. Gay Sonnet Ret n, hot pace and struggled on gamely to get third. Night Lad's performance in tho Juvenilo Handicap was very promising. Gold Brick scored his first success this season when ho won tho Stewards' Handicap. Sorno Rose, tho winimr of the Farewell Handicap, outstayed tho opposition and should win aeiiin. RACING JN ENGLAND.
