ACCIDENTALLY DROWSED.

MAN GASSED IN WAR. DISCOVERY BY FARMER. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 CAMBRIDGE, Wodnesday. A fatality occurred about 6 p.m. yesterday at Roto-o-rangi, when Rudolph Adderley, a single man, aged 43, was found drowned in a deep drain on Mr J. Davidson's farm. An inquest concerning the death was held this afternoon before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, tho coroner. The evidence showed that deceased, at about 5.30 p.m., went to round up the cows for milking, but did not return. Mr Davidson instituted a search and found deceased's body in r. drain. Artificial respiration was tried, without success. It is supposed that on crossing a drain deceased fell and struck hisi head against the opposite side, and then fell back into 2ft. of water. A verdict of death from accidental drowning was returned. Tho deceased, who was an ex-service-man, was subject to heart attacks, but was in a normal condition when last seen alivo. He had lived in this district for the past eight years, and for the last two and a-half years at Mr. Davidson's farm. He had been gassed in the war. Ho was of independent means. His relatives livo in England FATE OP A FISHERMAN. BODY FOUND ON BEACH. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.j WHANGAREI, Wednesday. The body of Tony Nalepa, the fisherman who fell overboard! from a launch on tho evening of October 8, was found on the foreshore near Manganese Point last evening. An inquest was held before Mr. F. N. Farmer, J.P., acting-coroner, and a jury at the Whangarei Courthouse this afternoon. R. E. McLcod arid M. 0. McLeod, the owners of the launch, gave evidence that tho party left Whangarei at 5 p.m. on the day of the fatality and that between 7 and 8 p.m., while tho launch was proceeding down the harbour, deceased fell overboard from tho stern of the boat. Search was uiado in the dark, but without result. The jury found that deceased was drowned after accidentally falling off the launch and that McLeod Bros, did all possible to save him.
