SIR JOSEPH WARD'S HEALTH
SHORT REST ORDERED. TREATMENT FOR EYE TROUBLE. [BY TELEGItAPIf. —X'HF.SS ASSOCIATION'] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. Sir Joseph Ward, Leader of tho United Party, is suffering from eye trouble, and is undergoing treatment. He is advised that lie must rest for a short period from tho strenuous work in front of him. His tour south is therefore postponcd. lie expresses a hope that the people of New Zealand will excuse him from making political addresses, as he had intended doing. Sir Joseph states definitely that, in spite of all criticisms by opponents in regard to bis loan proposals, if given an opportunity, he will put them into effect
