MOTOR OVER A BANK.
A FALL OF 300 FEET. OWNER SEVERELY INJURED. CAR REDUCED TO WRECKAGE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] OPOTIKI, Thursday. A sensational motor-car accident took place on the Papamoa Hill yesterday. Mr. McGee was on his way to Auckland, travelling alone in his own car. While journeying toward Opotiki the car went over the bank. It hurtled down the billside 300 ft., finally coming to rest in pieces.
The driver, although extensively injured, with" great difficulty and suffering great pain, managed to gradually work his way back up to the road, .where he waited for another car to pass. He was taken into Opotiki, where he received medical attention. His head is severely cut, also one hand, and he is suffering severely from shock. The car is a total wreck.
