TRAGEDY ON FARM.
DEATHS FROM POISONING. FAMILIES IN QUEENSLAND. (Received January 30, 10.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. BRISBANE, Jan. 30 A poisoning tragedy involving the deaths of three persons in two families is reported from Torrens Creek, 50 miles from Hughendon. The two families live in one house. It- is believed that the poisoning was caused through the contents of a tin of sheep-dip, which was left on top of a tank, getting into the drinking water. The persons dead are Thomas White, aged 47, Florence White, aged three, and Doris Windley, nine. Seven other persons have been taken to hospital in a serious condition. A post-mortem examination disclosed that the deaths were due to intestinal irritation, but at this stage it is not definitely known whether the trouble resulted from something that was eaten or came from some metallic source.
