IDLE AND DISORDERLY.

TERMS OF IMPRISONMENT. Three persons arrested by the police on charges of being idle and disorderly appeared in the Police Court before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. David Todd, aged 36, pleaded not guilty to the charge against him. The police evidence was that accused had not worked for some time. He frequented the hotels and was _,often in the company of undesirables. He had a long list of convictions

Accused was sentenced to three months imprisonment.

Alexander Mellis, aged 64, was sent to prison for three months on a similar charge- It was stated he had been given two shillings for a meal by two men from whom he had begged money, but he had entered a hotel. A remand for sentence for a week was granted in the case of Arttrar Goutts, aged 50. Accused was stated to have been sleeping in the Domain and worrying residents.
