MYSTERY OF MISSING MAN.
POLICE MAKE VAIN SEARCH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. J BLENHEIM. Thursday. The disappearance of Mr. David Jones, a resident of Canvastown, while he was on a visit to Nelson, is puzzling his friends and relatives, and also the police to whom the case has been reported. Mr. Jones, who is a single man, about 50 years old, left Canvastown about a fortnight ago with his sister, Miss C. Jones, to visit relatives in Nelson. He went to Mrs. R. 'Murray's house at Britannia Heights, and it was from there that he disappeared so suddenly and mysteriously. Search parties have been working from Nelson, where the police are directing operations, but so far no results have attended their efforts. A trace of the missing man one day last week is reported from Canvastown. Some workmen on the Whangamoa Hill met Mr. Jones wandering about, and gavo him food. Sinco then nothing has been heard of him.
