LARGE FALL OF EARTH.
CRASH THROUGH GARAGE. PROPRIETOR'S NARROW ESCAPE. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Thursday. Several tons of earth which fell from the face of a steep bank at the rear of Bartlett's garage, in Garden Place, crashed through the end of the corrugated iron building with alarming suddenness this afternoon. Tho proprietor, Mr. G. B. Bartlett, was working at a bench against the wall, and barely managed to jump clear. The fall was caused by the percolation of water in the bank following the recent heavy rain.
