POWER BOARD BUILDING.
CHOICE OF ARCHITECTS. AUCKLAND FIRM ENGAGED. The Auckland Power Board's proposal to call for competitive designs for the building it is proposed to erect on the British Hotel site in Queen Street has been abandoned, and instead it has been decided to engage a local firm of architects to draw up plans,, N At the board's invitation, the Auckland branch of tho Institute of Architects supplied a list of registered architects practising in the city, and from this number six were chosen and reduced by ballot to three. At yesterday's meeting of the board a further ballot was taken, with the result that Messrs. Wade and Bartley were appointed to carry out the work. There is no intention to erect tho building immediately.
