Large numbers of pigs and fowls were killed. Horses and cattle also suffered .severely. . • . Hailstones fell which weighed Boz. They dented the roofs of buildings, as if by hammers, and they also cut telephone wires. Lumps of ice were found in the centres of watermelons, most of which were chopped to pieces.
