WRECKED BRITISH SLOOP.
WEST INDIES DISASTER. NO FURTHER SURVIVORS. DAMAGE BY HURRICANE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Cc^yright. (Received 11.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. NEW YORK, Oct. 25. A despatch received from Hamilton, Bermuda, to-day says no more survivors of the British sloop Valerian have been found. No further details of the disaster have been ascertained, owing to the condition of the rescued seamen after their Id hours' exposure to the effects of wind and sea. It is estimated that the damage caused by the hurricane at the island will amount to between £600,000 and £1,000,000. The winter crops of bananas were ail destroyed. Twelve survivors from the British cargo steamer Eastway have been landed at St. Georges, Nova Scotia.
