The Athletic News says the industrial depression in England has affected the attendances at the New Zealand Rugby League team's matches, and the receipts are nob likely to approach those of the 1921-22 Australian tour, namely, £38,000, of which the Australians* share was £21,529. One-third of the present tour has been completed and the receipts to date total £8741. The gate money on Saturday was £1135. This was the highest amount taken so far at a club match. The Now Zealanders are to play a game in London, probably against a mixed League side, in the latter halt of January. WOMEN HOCKEY PLAYERS. ENGLISH TEAM TO TOUR. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Oct. 26. The Women's Hockey .Association has been advised that, an English women's hockey team has accepted an invitation to tour Australia next season.
