FIRE DESTROYS A HOUSE.
NO WATER AVAILABLE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday. A fivp-roomcd house, owned by the High School Hoard, and occupied by the board's caretaker, Mr. J. Ward, was completely destroyed by fi.ro, together with tlje contents. Mr. Ward was away a( the t.ime and the lire had .spread too far when the alarm was given. The building was beyond the area qf the water supply and the fye brigade could do nothing to combat the. flames.
OUTBREAK AT MOUNT EDEN. V.. • THE DAMAGE NOT SERIOUS. The .Mount. Eden Fire Brigade received a call to tho house pf Mr. W. J. Simpson, 543, Mount. Eden Road, at. eight o'elock on Saturday morning. Some curtains had caught, fire, but, the outbreak was subdued before serious damage was done.
