MISSIONARY EXHIBITION.

OPENING DAY ON MONDAY. The East and West Missionary Exhibition will- be opened on Monday in the Town Hall under the auspices of the Church of England. The object of the exhibition is not .to make money, but to interest, instruct and inspire and to bring home to those who attend the great fact .that the primary duty of-the t Church is the extension of the Kingdom of God. Thq exhibition will. show.in ,a graphic, pictorial way the actual work- being done in the mission field. Visitors will be transported temporarily to foreign lands and will hear-from the-lips.of . the missionaries accounts of their work, its difficulties, its needs, its success....... . The entertainments provided are both highly interesting and educative. The platforms in the main, hall and the concert chamber will be used and hundreds of willing . helpers will.. contribute to the entertainment. The great Exhibition Choir of over 300 voices will render excerpts from .the ,oratorios under the direction of Mr. John Tait, A.R.C.0., organist and choir master of St. Paul's Church, with Mr. Edgar Randal presiding at the. grand organ. Every night there will be a grand pageant procession of over 700 people from all the parishes of the "district in costumes of-all lands, the kaleidoscopic effect of the brilliant colourings being, most striking. The 'Maori concert party 'will perform 'its ancient dances and songs e^ery. afternoon and evening,;while special; plays, pageants and tableux illustrating native life arid missionary work will be given at intervals. Instrumental' music will be provided by. the band of the Auckland Mounted Rifles, the Carola Orchestra and the Albert Symphony Orchestra. Season ticket buttons are on sale at Lewis R.. Eady and Son, Ltd., Queen Street.
